Panto king is class act ... oh yes he is!

- Douglas Dickie

Budding actors from Rutherglen got some tips from a top professional last week.

The Performance Academy, run by Rutherglen woman Lisa Cleugh, performed Christmas classic Elf in East Kilbride at the weekend.

So entertainer Dean Park paid a visit to their workshop before the show to tell them to ... break a leg! He taught them a pantomime workshop drama class and watched students perform.

He offered feedback and spoke to the students about their classes and the work they do at the school.

The students then had the chance to quiz him about his own glittering acting career.

Lisa said: “He was amazing, really inspiring for the students and he had so much time to speak to each of them and offer audition advice.

“We had a brilliant night and it was lovely for our students to learn such great skills from the king of pantomime himself.”

The Performance Academy is now enrolling for its new term of classes and their show performance classes for 2018 which is Madagascar.

For more information find them on Facebook or call Lisa on 0781 351 8016.

Performance Academy classes are held locally in Burnside, Rutherglen, Cambuslang and Blantyre for all ages, including adult drama.
