Kenny gets Scots call-up
Kenny McLean described playing for Scotland as an“honour”after picking up his second cap for his country.
The former Cathkin High School pupil was handed a starting spot against Holland on Thursday and performed admirably as his team were defeated 1-0 by the Dutch.
Kenny, who hails from Cambuslang, has become a fan favourite at Aberdeen since signing from St Mirren and played the full 90 minutes.
He said they were unfortunate to lose the friendly.
Kenny said:“It was great to be in that environment and an honour to pull on the jersey.
“It is an honour to be in the squad and exciting for the future.
“It was excellent to be involved in the match. I thought it was a really good performance from the boys.
“We were up against a top quality side and I felt we were very unlucky to lose.
“We caused them some real problems at times and we were unlucky not to get anything from it. We felt there was a lot of positives to take from the match.”
