Sparkling fun at school fayre
There was Christmas magic in the air at Fernhill School recently - and a monster surprise, too.
The school was holding their annual Christmas fayre, with raffles, a tombola, a visit from Santa and this year’s surprise attraction, a monster truck.
The hall was packed full with exciting Christmas gifts to buy, raffles and tombola and an opportunity to sit and relax with a cup of tea or coffee and a cake.
The Primary six enterprise team were a huge success as they sold their Christmas Eve boxes complete with hot chocolate, reindeer dust and other goodies as well as an opportunity to write to Santa and a beautiful hot chocolate gift set.
The boys and girls worked hard all day and their labour was rewarded with a healthy return.
As always Santa popped by, greeted the children and adults with a smile and a song and opened up his grotto to everyone.
The monster truck was a big hit, and even Santa had a look inside it , before deciding to stick with his reindeers for travelling around in.
Dr Murphy, head teacher at Fernhill School, commented: “We are extremely lucky at Fernhill School to have such a dedicated staff, PTA and parent body and events such as the Christmas fayre wouldn’t be possible without them.
“The day was fun-filled from start to finish and was a lovely way to begin our journey towards Christmas.”
