Anger at housing freebies

-

Residents reacted with fury when it was revealed Persimmon Homes were handing out freebies in an effort to attract buyers. Despite offering only £2.3million to the Cambuslang community for their massive development at Gilbertfield, they still had money to entice customers elsewhere in the Uk. Here is what you had to say: “Much needed houses? How many more can we squash in?”– Janis Orr

“Great, more houses that Cambuslang doesn’t need. I want to know where are all these people coming from to move into them. As they seem to sell them all and at the price they sell them. There is not enough room in the schools so the council will need to build another high school and primary school. The council doesn’t seem to care about green belts and the wildlife, all they care about is the money but where is all the money from the sale of all the green belts they have sold? Cambuslang Main Street is a ghost town. You are OK if you want a haircut, a drink, gamble or a takeaway as that’s your options.”– Michelle Cunninghamm

“Not to mention doctors surgeries and dentists bursting at the seams, fights every year for placing requests for local schools and not one bank in the village.”– LauraWalker

There was also support online for Abdul Mohammed.

Brave Abdul spoke in last week’s Reformer about how he tackeld an armed raider who tried to rob his store. Here is what you had to say: “Hope Abdul recovers well. Such a hard worker, how dare folk just think they can assault and thieve from others.”– Carol in Oz
