Exhibition captures 10 years of picture perfect memories
Friends of Cambuslang Park celebrated its 10th anniversary by holding an exhibition in Cambuslang Institute.
A host of photos showing all the events and activities they have held over the last decade were displayed with over 100 people popping along to see.
Representatives from the Lanarkshire Historical Society attended the event along with volunteers from St Andrew’s First Aid, who showed the community how to give bystander CPR.
Both kids and adults alike had a chance to try for themselves.
The tea room was as popular as ever thanks to Margaret Sloan, Janet Neil and Dorothy Innes who produced some wonderful baking.
Project 31 had to use the upstairs room to display the art and written work from their children’s heritage project as pupils from Cairns, St Cadoc’s and Hallside primaries produced over 400 pieces of work.
Finally, the 75 entries from the Friends of Cambuslang Park photo competition were displayed and the winners announced. There was another surprise award handed out. Sean Kennedy was named Friends of Cambuslang Park’s young volunteer of the year, leaving his family were very proud
Joy Anderson from the Friends of Cambuslang Park group said: “We were very pleased to be able to show the community what we’ve been up to for the last 10 years and were encouraged to hear that people want us to continue.
“The photo competition was a great success – the judges had a hard job deciding on the winners.
“We hope that South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture will let us display the photos in the institute so that more people can see them.
“Thanks to Printfirst from Halfway for producing the prints so quickly for us.”
