Festive bargains and loads of cheer here!

- Jonathan Geddes

There was plenty of Christmas cheer at King’s Park Parish Church recently - and a few good bargains too.

The church was holding their Christmas bazaar event, and they raised a terrific amount of money.

King’s Park minister Sandra Boyd said: “It was a really good day, everyone just got into the spirit of things and there were loads of people from the whole community all coming in, which was great to see.

“The Guides and Brownies were in charge of the bottle stall too, and they worked very hard there,

“All the usual stalls were there - we had discarded treasures, cards, jewellery, toys, the bottle stall, pancakes, crafts, candles, cards, books and of course Santa was present too.

“There was a steady flow of visitors throughout the three hours and considering the many other events on, that day we raised an amazing £4,100.

“With the current climate, and so many other events all taking place around the same time, it was a really good turnout of people and a terrific amount of money to raise.

“A huge thanks to convenors Norah and Jonathan Buchan, all the stall holders and helpers and everyone who came and enjoyed the day.”

Sandra recently celebrated 10 years at King’s Park.

She told the Reformer how the church is aiming to engage more with the whole local community.

“Our whole outlook in the church is changing, and we have to engage more and be out there in the wider community, not just the within the church itself.”

Everyone really got into the spirit of things. It was a really good day - a huge thanks to all
