Castlemilk Park to host events

- Douglas Dickie

Winter does not mean an end to the fantastic events that take place in Castlemilk Park.

On Tuesday, January 23, experts from Glasgow University will be at the park to discuss the stars and objects in the night sky.

An indoor talk at Castlemilk Stables will ask‘what’s in the sky just now?’, while an outdoor viewing session will follow, weather permitting.

This event, which starts at 7pm, is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years old and booking is required. Call 0141 634 2673 or email housing@ cassiltoun.org.uk to book a place.

All About Owls will return on Tuesday, February 13, from 1.30-3.30pm. This will be a chance to see these birds close up and learn more about them.

Finally, Celebrating Snowdrops will take place on Sunday, February 18 from noon until 4pm.

This will be a celebration of the snowdrop with a range of activities including guided walks, self–led trails and snowdrop arts and crafts.

Cassiltoun Housing Association, who organise events in the park, also host volunteer days every month.

One will take place tomorrow, January 11 with the February session taking place on Thursday, February 8.
