Seasons to be cheerful
Trinity’s festive success on stage
Pupils at Trinity High School lit up the stage just before Christmas with their annual concert and panto.
Twelve school groups entertained pupils, staff and parents during their Christmas concert which made up act one of the show.
The soul band performed What Christmas Means to Me while the junior voices group sang When Christmas Comes to Town.
The woodwind section was split into two, with the flute trio playing Silent Night and the alto saxophone soloist, Eve Connolly, performing Frosty the Snowman.
Sixth year pupil Michael Martin performed a vocal solo of Soul of a Man.
The staff choir sang Silent Night and they were joined by the junior voices for a rendition of O Mary, Where is You Baby?
The junior percussion group performed Jingle Bells, the vocal trio sang Ava Maria and the brass group performed a Christmas medley of songs.
There was a Latin American flavour to the senior percussion ensemble’s performance of El Cumbanachero but the folk group went closer to home with a Scottish medley.
The senior voices performed O Holy Night and a medley of George Michael numbers with the anniversary of the singer’s tragic death taking place on Christmas Day.
Act two was the ever popular panto, with the performing acts faculty putting on Robin Hood for the crowd.
Lucy Davies took on the role of the eponymous hero while Maria Trainer was Maid Marion.
Louise Hurley and Martin Murray were suitably villainous as the Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John while Alen Saju played King Richard and Ethan McGuire was Little John.
There was a whole host of other wacky characters with 47 pupils all involved in the production.
