People in Castlemilk have this week paid tribute to a wellknown man who died suddenly at New Year.

Father-of-three Dean Osborne was described as “one in a million” when friends and family gathered on Sunday evening to release dozens of lanterns in his memory.

People in Castlemilk have this week paid tribute to a well- known man who died suddenly shortly after New Year.

Dean Osborne passed away in non- suspicious circumstan­ces aged just 32.

The father of three was remembered my friends and family on Sunday when dozens of people gathered to release lanterns at a local park.

People shared their stories of the former St Margaret Mary’s Secondary School pupil whilst local talent Robin Ashcroft sang favourites including Stand By Me.

Dean, affectiona­tely known as Deano to friends, leaves behind three children including Tia, Cooper and Ace, as well as his mother Marion, an older brother and younger sister.

Residents also took to social media to express their shock and love for Celtic fan Dean.

Garry J Quinn wrote on Facebook: “Rest easy my man. You were one in a million, a true Castlemilk legend.

“Hope you’re partying away up there mate. So sad to lose another Castlemilk bhoy.

“Thoughts go out to your family and friends bro, sleep tight.”

“RIP Dean Osbourne,” Sammy Maxwell added. “You were one of Castlemilk’s best boys, gone too young. Thinking of your family and your kids.”

Friend Jamie Kerr said: “Absolutely gutted, RIP Dean Osborne. Glad our last phone call was all jokes and laughs bro, will miss you.”

Lauren Berwick said: “Another sad day in Castlemilk. God gained another angel. Sleep tight Dean my pal, forever in my heart. All my thoughts with his family, girl and boys at this sad time.”

Tributes were also paid by Dean’s beloved Celtic, with star defender Kieran Tierney signing a strip in dedication to his memory.

Dean’s funeral will be held tomorrow, Thursday, December 11 at St Margaret Mary’s chapel at 10am, followed by burial at Linn Cemetery.
