Online support for Jane

Star’ssleazyencounter

King’s Park actress Jane McCarry received online support last week after telling how a Burns Supper turned sleazy.

The Still Game star was responding to a tweet by comedian Frankie Boyle, who had explained that he once walked out of a corporate event after a guest leapt on stage and slapped a female performer’s bottom.

Jane, who plays Isa in the smash hit BBC show Still Game, then tweeted: “At a Burn’s Supper in Mauchline with @MrMJCox an old toff kept putting his foot beside mine. I asked what he was doing and without a hint of shame or embarrassment he said I’m trying to see a reflection of your **** . Vile.”

The actress was swiftly supported by other Twitter users.

Weegiewitch stated: “Jeezo that’s just wrong, I hope you gave him a slap on the jaw.” Jane Somers posted: “Jane, that’s awful. Sleazy git.”

Connor Kerr said: “I never understand that. What makes people think it’s OK to be so utterly repulsive?”

Other users were more direct with their suggestions.

Benny Fitzscrounger said: “Should have put your heel down his shin.”

And Andy Rodgers added: “I hope you kicked his b***.”

The event where the incident occurred is believed to have been the special Homecoming Burns Supper in Mauchline in 2009.

Jane’s Twitter comments followed the recent storm of controversy over the President’s Club charity, which hosted a men only dinner earlier this year.

An investigation by the Financial Times newspaper found a host of incidents of harassment, resulting in the group closing down.
