Don’t be left feeling red-faced on your big day – be a blushing bride

-

One of the main things sure to send a bride-to-be into a mini-meltdown is her skin breaking out in the run up to the big day.

A bride on her wedding day wants to look her flawless best.

However, on the quest for perfection some go OTT on their skin care regime in the lead up to their wedding.

And in some cases this can do more harm than good.

Your skin is actually well equipped to look after itself – which means less is more when it comes to skin care so you don’t need to spend a fortune.

If you’ve never had a three-step cleanse, tone and moisturise routine, why bring one in now? Unless you are having real skin problems.

The general rule of thumb tends to be the more lotions and potions you put on your skin, the worst it actually becomes.

The natural oils on your skin fight bacteria which keep the spots away.

If you introduce lots of new ingredients, the chances are your skin will lose its PH balance and be under attack by bacteria.

Too much cleansing and scrubbing can actually have a negative effect on your skin.

If you are already suffering breakouts and want to treat them, the same applies – less is more.

You want to rebalance your skin and then cut way back on products.

Don’t touch your face as it will spread any infection.

Use a gentle face wash and hydrating moisturiser and dab a little lavender oil on any spots/ blemishes.

This will calm the redness and promote the healing process.

It acts fast so use morning and evening.

Have faith in this process and a little patience. It will work but you need to give your skin a chance to rebalance.

If your skin is very dry, hop into the bath and give your skin a massage with some Bio-Oil.

It will help hydrate and brighten your skin which also creates a beautiful base for makeup.

A richer moisturiser will be required but you can use the oil as a serum underneath – it’s fabulous.
