Comedian Gary returns for Lanarkshire dates

- Stefanie McCourt

Up-and-coming comedian Gary Faulds is preparing to return to Lanarkshire as his successful tour continues.

The Glaswegian is on the bill at the Jo Caulfield and Friends event at Lanark Memorial Hall on Saturday, May 19. And the 30-year-old will then take to the stage at the East Kilbride Arts Centre on Saturday, June 2. It comes after Gary performed in Hamilton at the end of last year, and amidst a tour which has sold out four Glasgow Comedy Festivals and various theatres all over the UK. The father-of-five has had audiences in stitches by hilariously examining his boozy life before meeting his wife, Ashley, and settling down.

Stories of growing up in Glasgow, coupled with his marriage and family life, are delivered with a rapid fire of punchlines by the former soldier.

He said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to come back to Lanarkshire and also getting to perform with Jo Caulfied.

“Stand-Out Comedy are doing great things in the area and I am exited to be a part of this line-up.”

The comedian’s Lanarkshire dates are an ideal time to catch Gary in intimate venues as he prepares to perform at the SEC next year.

He continued: “It’s a very exiting time. Last New Year, I just thought ‘life is for living and it’s time I upped my game’. So I started organising shows around Scotland to test myself.

“And it’s turned out amazing, so in 2019 I have booked the Lomond auditorium in the SEC, which is an 800-seater.

“It’s all guns blazing, I have a dream and a vision. Life is for living bold as we only get one chance.”

Award-winning comedienne Jo will also be joined by comics Raymond Mearns, Graham Mackie and Ross Leslie for the Lanark Comedy Club.

Jo is a regular feature at the Edinburgh Fringe and has successfully toured the UK with her own show numerous times.

She has also appeared on the likes of Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, The John Bishop Show, and Have I Got News For You.

Tickets cost £15 and can be bought by visiting www.sllcboxoffice.co.uk
