It’s time to dance

A charity appeal got off to a cracking start back in the spring of 1983.

Local woman Jessie MacDonald was organising charity events to try and raise money for an ultrasonic scalpel that could be used in Scottish hospitals, after hearing how Scots had to travel to America for treatment.

First up was a dance at the Holepark Social Club, attended by over 180 people and featuring the group Something Old, Something New.
