Flemington Hallside Church will hold a summer fun day this Saturday.

It will run from 11am to 2pm and there will be a bouncy castle, lots of outdoor activities, a plant sale and food and drink.

Entry is free and all in the community are welcome.

The church’s women’s guild meets every Wednesday at 7pm. St Columbkill­e’s Parish Church will hold a jumble sale in the hall this Saturday, from 11am to 2pm.

There will be a variety of stalls as well as tea and coffee. St Columbkill­e’s are also looking at establishi­ng a bereavemen­t group in the church.

Anyone interested in helping should put comments in the green box at the back of the church. Burnside Blairbeth Church will hold the latest in their popular Messy Church series this Saturday.

The fun starts at 4pm. Castlemilk Parish Church holds community meals on the first and third Fridays of the month. See http://castlemilk­parishch. wixsite.com for details. Cambuslang Parish Church’s Lunch Club takes place on Tuesday and Friday of each week at 12.30pm.

The café is open every Wednesday from 10am till noon.

The church is currently looking for someone who can play the organ and accompany and lead the music group. St Mark’s have a cuppa club which meets on Tuesday mornings. All are welcome. Croftfoot United Free Church hosts T in The Croft every Friday from 10am until noon. It also hosts Lunch at the Croft on the first Friday of the month from 11.30am till 1.30pm. Entry is £1.50. St Bride’s Church’s new Eat Up initiative, offering warm food and company, takes place every Wednesday from noon until 2pm.

The church’s SPACE group will hold a fun day on June 10. There will be coffee & teas, tombola, raffles and more. It all kicks off after 10am Mass and will end around 1.30 pm. Rutherglen Old Parish Church is open every Thursday between noon and 2pm for a period of reflection known as Thoughtful Thursday.

There is also the opportunit­y to enjoy fellowship over tea/ coffee and biscuits.

Anyone is welcome to bring in their lunch and join with others in friendly chat. The Fitness Follies Keep Fit group at Fernhill and Cathkin Church meets every Wednesday at 10.30am, and new members are always welcome.

On Thursday morning, at 10am, the Knitting & Nattering group meets in the Session Room, again new members are always welcome. Rutherglen’s Salvation Army has a host of events going on, including toddler groups, the JAM club and singing groups. More informatio­n can be found at www.salvationa­rmy.org.uk/ rutherglen. St Oswald’s Episcopal Church in King’s Park has announced details of ongoing events taking place.

Monday is for Kaleidosco­pe, offering a play space for children living with autism and their families from 6.30pm until 8pm. On Tuesday there is community yoga, with entry costing £3 and lasting from 7pm until 8pm. All abilities are welcome.

Wednesday sees prayer space at 10am, giving a chance for reflection.

On Thursday there is soup and space to be still from 6.30pm until 8pm. Refresh runs every Friday at Croftfoot Parish Church from 2-4pm.

It has a number of activities from hand massage to playing pool. Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church’s friendship cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am until noon. The Tuesday Club meets every Tuesday in the Hamilton Road hall. The popular Messy Church event at Rutherglen Baptist Community Church is held on the third Saturday of each month (excluding July and August). Stonelaw Church’s Cafe @ The Meeting Place is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am until 12.30pm.

Tea and coffee is available, along with home baking and a second-hand book stall. Stonelaw is also having monthly 30 minute services for those who struggle to attend on Sunday.

The next of those services takes place Wednesday, June 6, at 2pm.

The church’s Tuesday Chat group meet every fortnight, on Tuesday’s, at 7.30pm. The group is a great place for people to chat, share their needs and study God’s word together. Contact jonathan.geddes@ reachplc.com if you have any church news or events.
