Croftfoot Parish Church will hold their summer fete this Saturday, June 16.

There will be a bouncy castle, a tea room, bric a brac, home baking, a bottle stall, Beat the Goalie, face painting and lots of other fun.

It all gets underway at noon and runs until 3pm.

Entry is free. St Oswald’s Episcopal Church in King’s Park has announced details of ongoing events taking place. Monday is for Kaleidosco­pe, offering a play space for children living with autism and their families from 6.30pm until 8pm. On Tuesday there is community yoga, with entry costing £3 and lasting from 7pm until 8pm. All abilities are welcome. Wednesday sees prayer space at 10am, giving a chance for reflection. On Thursday there is soup and space to be still from 6.30pm until 8pm. Flemington Hallside Church raised over £1400 with their recent fun day, which will go towards church funds. The church’s women’s guild meets every Wednesday at 7pm. Castlemilk Parish Church holds community meals on the first and third Fridays of the month. See http://castlemilk­parishch. wixsite.com for details. Rutherglen’s Salvation Army has a host of events going on, including toddler groups, the JAM club and singing groups. The Fitness Follies Keep Fit group at Fernhill and Cathkin Church meets every Wednesday at 10.30am, and new members are always welcome. On Thursday morning, at 10am, the Knitting & Nattering group meets in the Session Room, again new members are always welcome. And their Messy Church services are held on the first Saturday of each month. Stonelaw Church’s Cafe @ The Meeting Place is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am until 12.30pm. Tea and coffee is available, along with home baking and a second-hand book stall. Stonelaw is also having monthly 30 minute services for those who struggle to attend on Sunday. The next of those services takes place on July 4 at 2pm. The church’s Tuesday Chat group meet every fortnight, on Tuesday’s, at 7.30pm. The group is a great place for people to chat and study God’s word together. Cambuslang Parish Church’s Lunch Club takes place on Tuesday and Friday of each week at 12.30pm. The café is open every Wednesday from 10am till noon. St Columbkill­e’s are also looking at establishi­ng a bereavemen­t group in the church. Anyone interested in helping should put comments in the green box at the back of the church. They are also holding a meeting to discuss setting up a group that would look at the history of the parish. They meet on Monday’s at 6pm in the Hall Conference Room.

The Small Faith Sharing group have begun meeting again on Tuesday nights. Croftfoot United Free Church hosts T in The Croft every Friday from 10am until noon. It also hosts Lunch at the Croft on the first Friday of the month from 11.30am till 1.30pm. Entry is £1.50. St Bride’s Church’s new Eat Up initiative, offering warm food and company, takes place every Wednesday from noon to 2pm. The popular Messy Church event at Rutherglen Baptist Community Church is held on the third Saturday of each month (excluding July and August). Rutherglen Old Parish Church is open every Thursday between noon and 2pm for a period of reflection known as Thoughtful Thursday. There is also the opportunit­y to enjoy fellowship over tea/coffee and biscuits. Anyone is welcome to bring in their lunch and join with others Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church’s friendship cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am until noon. The Tuesday Club meets every Tuesday in the Hamilton Road hall. Burnside Blairbeth Church continue to hold Messy Church on the first Saturday of every month. This is a family service that also includes a meal. St Mark’s have a cuppa club which meets on Tuesday mornings. All are welcome.
