Holiday and Flight Centre spots latest singing sensation

A 15-year-old singing sensation from Hamilton has scooped a £1000 holiday prize in a competitio­n where pop star Sinitta was among the judges.

Now, Millie McGinnes is set to pen a song for the town’s Holiday and Flight Centre.

On Sunday, June 17, the team from Hamilton’s award-winning Holiday and Flight Centre hosted the Big Sing To Win in partnershi­p with Jet 2 Holidays and South Lanarkshir­e Council at their Family Man celebratio­n at Hamilton race course.

It was a great success where singing sensation 15-year-old Millie McGinnes, of Hamilton, picked up the star prize of a £1000 holiday voucher.

And with the talent being so outstandin­g, Managing Director and owner of The Holiday and Flight Centre, Roseann Ratter, added two last minute prizes for singer Megan Welsh, 13, from Hamilton, who was given a second prize of £500, and 13-yearold Millie Gilroy from Larkhall, who won third place with a voucher for £250.

With hopes of being involved in a major UK talent show, Millie is also going to write a song just for The Holiday and Flight Centre which they are delighted with and are looking forward to hearing.

All the children who performed on the day received performanc­e coaching from Chris and Ross in their own green room and received goodie bags with the chance to audition for Movies to Musicals with Chris and Ross. which brings Kerry Ellis from London ‘s west End for 2019.

The competitio­n was for children under 16 who live or learn in South Lanarkshir­e with online auditions held in May and live auditions held at their office in Quarry Street recently.

From the live auditions eight lucky children were picked to go through to the final which was judged by pop star Sinitta along with judges Chris Scougal, who is a profession­al actor and Creative Director of Movies to Musicals, and Ross Gunning, founder and conductor of Glasgow Philarmoni­a and a talent scout for the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.

Sinitta performed some of her big hits and some of the dads joined in dancing to top tunes So Macho and Toy Boy. The day was such a success that 2019 is being discussed at the moment.

The Holiday and Flight Centre and Jet2holida­ys teams were there on the day with the Holiday and Flight centre team in the crowd giving out goodies and telling people about some of their amazing deals available at their store at 38 Quarry Street, Hamilton.

One lucky lady won a £250 voucher from the Holiday and Flight Centre.
