Rutherglen man accused of murder
Dad killed on street
A Rutherglen man and two others have appeared in court charged with murdering a man.
Mark Moncrieff, 32, Paul McCann, 37, and Domenica Smith, 21, allegedly attacked and killed Brian Boyle on July 9 on the road on Reidvale Street in Glasgow with weapons.
They are also accused of assaulting Kaleigh Boyle, as well as behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
Moncrieff, of Rutherglen, McCann, of Castlemilk, and Smith, from Shettleston in Glasgow, appeared in private at the city’s sheriff court last Wednesday where they made no pleas.
All three were remanded in custody.
Court papers allege that on the roadway outside a property on Reidvale Street, the trio repeatedly punched and kicked Mr Boyle on the head and body, and repeatedly stabbed him on the body with a knife or similar instrument.
The charge also claims they repeatedly struck him on the head and body with a hammer, and murdered him.
All three are also accused of assaulting Miss Boyle.
It’s claimed they brandished a hammer and attempted to strike her with it, took hold of her hair, threw her against a fence, struggled with her and kicked her on the body to her injury.
And, they all face a charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by repeatedly kicking and jumping on a car, striking the car with a hammer and shouting, swearing and uttering threats.
Moncrieff faces three further allegations of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, resisting, obstructing or hindering police and assaulting a police officer.
McCann, Moncrieff and Smith are scheduled to appear at a full committal hearing this week.
