Club presidents Sandra Hughes and Jim Stoddart defeated Mary McIntyre and Alister Thomson to win the final of the balloted pairs tournament.

Sixteen teams took part in the competitio­n held at Halfway last Saturday.

This weekend the Rosebowl fun day takes place at the club from 12pm.

Members are invited to bring along a non bowler on Saturday and dress up as something beginning with the letter S.

A barbecue will provide the food for the day.

In the Lanarkshir­e League last Wednesday the Division 3 team were unlucky to only pick up two points at home to Strathaven.

One team won well and the other two sides were level at 14-14 as they headed into the last end, only for both of them to lose by a single shot.

The Division 10 team didn’t pick up any points away to Hamilton Caley.

Halfway A kept up their good run in the District 26 seniors league by winning home and away against Stonehouse.

They are only four points off top spot with five games remaining.

This week’s opponents were Strathclyd­e.

Halfway B lost at home but won away to Uddingston and play Blantyre this week.

The Ladies Top 10 lost all their games away to East Kilbride last week. This week’s opponents were Whitefield at home on Monday night.

The RDBA (Rutherglen and District Bowling Associatio­n) triples teams lost both games against Cambuslang last week, this week’s opponents were Rutherglen before they play Templeton seven days later.
