Clyde top the league
Stirling Albion ...... 0 Clyde..................... 3
Clyde leapt to the top of League Two after a top win away to Stirling Albion.
Boss Danny Lennon reckons the club’s fine start to the season is down to hard work.
Ally Love did the damage with a deadly double, while David Goodwillie added a third, as the Bully Wee took a two point lead at the top.
Danny said:“The success is coming from the players working hard for one another. We’ve been working on being just as good without the ball as we are with it and I think we are getting the benefits of that.”
Clyde opened the scoring with five minutes gone after a Jordan Stewart free-kick into the box was knocked down by Martin McNiff into the path of Love, who hooked his shot past Albion keeper Cammy Binnie.
A second goal came on the stroke of half-time following a well-worked move.
Ray Grant played the ball through the defence to Stewart, and the left-back’s cross into the box was headed home by Goodwillie.
The points were made secure just after the hour mark after Goodwillie picked out Love with a pass on the corner of the box.
His shot from a wide angle beat Binnie, and went in off the post.
Clyde were in action again last night, as they played the colt team of Hamilton Accies.
They resume League 2 duties this Saturday with a trip to play Peterhead.
