Burnside Blairbeth Church will resume running Messy Church in September. It starts with an hour of crafts and games, followed by a celebratio­n with a Bible story and singing, finishing with a two-course meal. St Bride’s Church’s new Eat Up initiative, offering warm food and company, is closed for the next two Wednesdays due to staff being on holiday. It will resume on Wednesday, September 5.

The church are looking at establishi­ng an Instagram and Twitter account. Croftfoot United Free Church hosts T in The Croft every Friday from 10am-noon. It also hosts Lunch at the Croft on the first Friday of the month, 11.30am -1.30pm. Entry is £1.50 King’s Park Church will hold their summer holiday club from August 27 onwards, from 6.30pm to 8pm each night.

Their lunch club will return on the last Thursday of the month from September. St Cadoc’s are short of altar servers, especially for Sunday 10am Mass. They are appealing to parents to encourage their children to get involved. Anyone who would like to become an altar server can speak to Fr Cirilo after one of the weekend Masses. A group from St Columbkill­e’s will take part in a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in September 2019. Details and booking forms are available from Deacon Bill and a £300 deposit is required to confirm each place. There will be a meeting for anyone interested in the church hall committee room on Thursday, September 13, at 7pm. A collection for Mary’s Meals will be held at the church on September 1 and 2. Unwanted clothing or textiles can be donated amd raffle tickets, priced at £1, will be on sale. Rutherglen Old Parish Church is open every Thursday between noon and 2pm for a period of reflection. There is also the opportunit­y to enjoy fellowship over tea/coffee and biscuits. Anyone is welcome to take in their lunch and join others in friendly chat. Stonelaw Church’s Cafe @ The Meeting Place is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am until 12.30pm.

Tea and coffee are available, along with home baking and a second-hand book stall.

Stonelaw is having monthly 30-minute services for those who struggle to attend on Sunday.The next service is on Wednesday, September 5.

The church’s Tuesday Chat group meet every fortnight at 7.30pm. Flemington Hallside Church’s women’s guild meets every Wednesday at 7pm. Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church’s friendship cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am until noon.

The Tuesday Club meets in the Hamilton Road hall.

The Fitness Follies keep fit group at Fernhill and Cathkin Church meets every Wednesday at 10.30am.

On Thursday at 10am the Knitting and Nattering group meets in the session room.

Messy Church services are held on the first Saturday of each month. Castlemilk Parish Church hold community meals on the first and third Fridays of the month. St Mark’s have a cuppa club which meets on Tuesday mornings. The Divine Mercy prayer group meet on Thursday evenings at St Anthony’s from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. St Oswald’s Episcopal Church in King’s Park has Kaleidosco­pe for children with autism and their families from 6.30pm until 8pm on Monday.

On Tuesday there is community yoga, with entry costing £3 and lasting from 7pm until 8pm. Wednesday sees prayer space at 10am. On Thursday there is soup and space to be still from 6.30pm until 8pm.
