Kirkhill Bowling Club
The second of two annual 2-4-2 competitions was held on the afternoon of 12 August 2018 at Kirkhill Bowling Club. Thanks go to Hugh McNulty who organises these competitions and to all the people at the club who work in the background to make these events the success they are.
The 2-4-2 is a mixed pairs competition where the first pair of competing bowlers play two bowls each, the second pair of bowlers play four bowls each followed by the first two each playing their remaining two bowls.
The order of the two players on each team alternated for each end.
Each team played four other teams for four ends each.
Half way through, play was paused whilst participants stopped for refreshments.
The afternoon was a overcast but dry, which helped to make a very pleasant and competitive social gathering.
The winners were: Eleanor Lappin and Christine Allison.
Booby prizes went to Janette and Alasdair Robertson.
The afternoon finished after a raffle and an enjoyable fish supper at about 5.30pm.
