A group from St Columbkill­e’s will take part in a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in September 2019. Details and booking forms are available from Deacon Bill and a £300 deposit is required to confirm each place. There will be a meeting for anyone interested in the church hall committee room on Thursday, September 13, at 7pm. The first meeting of the Young Adults Group will take place in the Confer-ence Room of the Parish Hall at 7pm tomorrow (Thursday).

The Parish History Group are visiting Blairs on Monday September 24.

There are a very limited number of places available.

Bus leaves the Hall at 9.15am and the trip will include a tour of the museum and the Mary Queen of Scots Exhibition. Last week’s visit by Mary’s Meals was a great success. 175 bags of textiles were collected as well as cash of £1,615.64. ●St Cadoc’s are short of altar servers, especially for Sunday 10am Mass. They are appealing to parents to encourage their children to get involved. Anyone who would like to become an altar server can speak to Fr Cirilo after one of the weekend Masses.

The church’s second collection for the support of the Church Building Fund realised £708.67. ●Stonelaw Church’s Cafe @ The Meeting Place is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am until 12.30pm. Tea and coffee are available, along with home baking and a second-hand book stall. Stonelaw is having monthly 30-minute services for those who struggle to attend on Sunday. The next service is today, Wednesday, September 5. The church’s Tuesday Chat group meet every fortnight at 7.30pm. ●The Divine Mercy prayer group meet on Thursday evenings at St Anthony’s from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. ●St Mark’s have a cuppa club which meets on Tuesday mornings. ●St Bride’s Church’s new Eat Up initiative takes place every Wednesday, from noon onwards.

It offers the chance to have a hot meal and chat to other people. The church are looking at establishi­ng an Instagram and Twitter account.
