Spooky walk leaders fear lack of volunteers
Plea for helpers
Organisers of a popular community event are calling for more volunteers to give it a spooktacular lift.
The spooky walk and pumpkin festival in Castlemilk have proved hugely popular in recent years, with hundreds of youngsters attending.
Now more volunteers are needed to make sure that the creepy strolls through the park can continue.
And if there is no help Casiltoun Housing Association could be forced to limit attendance.
A spokesperson for the woodlanad area said: “We are very reluctant to limit the numbers and access so that everyone can enjoy it.
“This event needs more people to get involved than any other and we simply can’t do it alone.
“There are loads of ways people can help make this a fantastic community event.”
Among the tasks where help is needed are decorating the wood, facepainting, dressing up and being in the woodland, giving out and collecting torches, giving out glowsticks, marshalling in twos and taking down the decorations.
Other Hallowe’en events include storytelling sessions and pumpkin carving events.
The event will take place from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday, October 24.
