Clyde win it at the last

-

Berwick Rangers .. 2 Clyde ..................... 3

You can always bet on Clyde to deliver some late drama.

And the Bully Wee provided that on Saturday, as they fought back from a two goal half-time deficit to sink Berwick 3-2.

Stephen Scott and Jack Ogilvie put the home side ahead before David Goodwillie and Karim Belmokhtar made it all square and the French-Algerian striker won it late in injury time, scoring on the rebound after his first shot was blocked to keep Danny Lennon’s side third.

Gaffer Danny hailed his players character after they fought back.

He said: “At half-time we asked the guys to show character and we made the changes that we felt were needed for the situation. It wasn’t that we had played badly in the first half, we just didn’t make the right choices especially in possession.”

The Clyde boss was also pleased at his team’s quality throughout the squad, believing that helped to inspire the comeback

He added: “It was fantastic to see again that we never give up. I was also proud to see the depth that we have in the squad now - the quality that we had to come on from the bench. Ross, Karim and Jack all had a positive impact.

“The fans, once again, were massive throughout.”

Clyde now turn their attention to a local derby with Queen’s Park, travelling to Hampden on Saturday.
