A tenant management co-op responsible for over 200 Cathkin Braes properties have been praised in a report.

South Lanarkshire Council’s Housing and Technical Resources Committee last week evaluated the performance of the co-op from April 1, 2014 through until March 31, 2018.

They look after 205 properties, both tenement flats and terraced/semidetached houses.

The TMC’s service performance in relation to key indicators, including repairs and maintenance, rent collection, void and estate management, were all rated in the report as very good and compares favourably to the Council’s overall performance, while also demonstrating consistently strong financial management, operating within agreed budget levels.

Levels of satisfaction from existing tenants were found to be high, with a recent independent survey rating the service at 98 per cent.

The report stated: “Cathkin Braes TMC is a successful tenant led organisation that performs well, delivers good outcomes and is well regarded by tenants living in the area.

“The area of Cathkin has continued to be popular as a place to live, with a stable and sustainable community. The organisation performs well in delivering good, responsive housing services at a local level with no areas of concern. Through close partnership working, good governance arrangements are in place.”

A five year management agreement has now been agreed with the co-op, starting in April 2019,
