Anger over robbery

-

Our story last week on a pensioner being robbed of a three figure sum of money after two cruel criminals talked their way into her home was met with anger and disgust on our social media pages.

Margaret Brown -“These people are scum, Thinking of the lady”

Sharon Norman -“Absolute disgrace preying on the elderly” Geraldine Gaitens -“Utter scumbags” Sylvia Taylor -“Shocking” Jeanette Hill -“Can we help? Would she like some tickets for our play?”

Josephine Dowds Mcelhinney -“Disgusting”

We also told how a proposal to turn the former TSB bank in Cambuslang into a restaurant had been knocked back by South Lanarkshire Council.

The decision met with a mixed reaction from locals, many of whom are concerned about the lack of options in the area. Dee Tee -“Turn it into a bank!” John Wilson -“Don’t be silly don’t make the building useful for others and create jobs... No no no”

Andy Blair -“Turn it back into a tsb bank. Idiots.”

Glenn Jamieson -“I think most of you are either not understanding how things work or are just being plain morons. Banking is going out of favour for online banking. As John Wilson has said surely having something and providing jobs is better than nothing or if you would prefer we could just board it up and leave it.”

Our story on families in Newton being affected by poor broadband also brought a variety of comments.

Jamie McInall -”Openreach are abysmal whether it be their copper ADSL or Fibre to the cabinet. Biggest mistake the government made was letting BT own most of telecoms market share.”

Sunset Rising -“Our Internet in Halfway is ridiculously slow. My mobile data is faster than it.”

Sharon McGuinness Johnson -“I feel your pain. They have been misleading everyone with this since the development began. Its ridiculous,

“Openreach knew how many homes were to be built, yet they did not make sure the services were available.”
