Record number nominated for the annual NHS awards
Patients, relatives, visitors and colleagues have applauded the outstanding contribution made by staff, volunteers and partner agencies by nomiating them in the fourth annual NHS Lanarkshire’s Staff Awards.
A total of 345 nominations have been received this year – an increase on last year’s figure.
The judging panel will soon meet to decide the shortlist for the six award categories.
These will include: outstanding individual (clinical and non-clinical); outstanding team (clinical and nonclinical); outstanding care; outstanding volunteer; outstanding quality; and outstanding learner.
The winners will be announced during a celebration ceremony at Hamilton’s Town House in May, when entertainment will be provided by the new NHS Lanarkshire choir.
Calum Campbell, chief executive of NHS Lanarkshire, told the Reformer:“It’s fantastic that we are now in our fourth year of the Staff Awards, building upon the success of last year, to celebrate and recognise the achievements and excellent work of our staff and volunteers.
“A total of 345 nominations were received - these came in from patients, relatives, friends, colleagues and managers.”
Mr Campbell added:“I would like to express my appreciation to all of our staff and volunteers for their outstanding work, commitment and dedication.”
