Book Week Scotland heads back to library
Book Week Scotland is returning to Rutherglen Library.
Scottish Book Trust will team up with various partners to deliver a range of events and activities, many tying in with the Year of Conversation, including the Digital Festival with free events that can be accessed online.
The week of celebration, from November 18-24, was launched by local comic book artist Frank Quitely of DC Comics’All Star Superman and Batman and Robin fame.
Scottish Book Trust’s work includes: gifting books to every child in Scotland to ensure families can share the joy of books at home; working with teachers to inspire children to develop a love of reading; creating innovative classroom activities, book awards and author events; supporting Scotland’s writing community; and funding author events to promote Scottish writing to people worldwide.
The Trust is giving out 10,000 free copies of the Blether book, celebrating the theme of conversation, which will be available from South Lanarkshire libraries and other community venues.
The free book can also be ordered via the Trust’s website, which features each and every personal story submitted.
