New calendar is packed with info

Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust has launched an initiative to further engage with Rutherglen and Cambuslang residents and help them feel connected this festive season.
Following a recent survey of community groups, the charity last week launched a festive calendar on social media that is packed full of events that are going on in the area this month.
The calendar lists exciting activities that will help promote community spirit, with opportunities to help make this time of the year easier and special for everyone.
Rutherglen and Cambuslang events listed include everything from Christmas markets and carol singing, to foodbank details and toy giveaways.
Brendan Rooney, chief executive of Healthy n Happy, said: “When meeting other groups, we said we would do something about sharing information of what is going on in the area and spreading Christmas community spirit as best we can.
“We hope that there will be a very positive response to the festive calendar and hopefully people find it useful. We will keep updating the calendar when we hear about events.”
It’s the latest initiative designed to connect people to people, communities to organisations and groups to groups.
Mr Rooney continued: “Healthy n Happy has lots of opportunities for people to get together and enjoy each other’s company over the next few weeks.
“Community events, community cinema, radio programmes by and for the community, health and wellbeing sessions and volunteering are all taking place.”
