A Rutherglen optical practice has expanded thanks to a £100,000 investment.

Specsavers on Stonelaw Road now boasts an additional floor, complete with space for a dedicated audiology room.

Patients will now benefit from an additional two consulting eye test rooms, as well as the new fullyequipped audiology area.

The store has recruited four new members of staff in preparation for the increased footfall.

The audiology room will cater for patients looking for hearing advice, as well as performing an allencompassing ear health check designed to detect any issues with the ear canal which could adversely affect hearing.

Christine Robertson, audiology director at Specsavers Rutherglen, believes the expanded premises and new room will benefit local residents.

She said: “We’re committed to providing the people of Rutherglen and surrounding areas with the best hearing services available and expanding the store’s offering was the perfect way to cater for even more people and offer a great customer experience.”

Peter Beaton, store director at Specsavers Rutherglen, was also enthused by the expansion.

He added: “Our store has always pushed to ensure that we can provide the people of Rutherglen the finest of professional health services available, so we believe this investment into a dedicated audiology room will benefit all of our customers by offering them quality hearing care right in the heart of the town.

“I’d encourage anyone to come along and book in for a hearing test to ensure that you have no issues with your hearing.”
