Lanarkshire twins are wrapping up a huge 2019 with their latest single.

Mick and Phil Muir, 29, released Hold On last week after one of their biggest years in music yet.

The twins are originally from Hamilton but have stayed in East Kilbride since 2013, the same year they started their band Mick n Phil.

The acoustic duo have already released three songs this year, with Hold On being the fourth.

Mick said: “We do acoustic folk music but on the album that is released in March, there will be a lot of different styles shown.

“I think that this song is more of a piano ballad, which is different to other things we have put out.

“Hold On is a song about hope. It is about seeing the silver lining when you feel down. It is so easy to write negative songs so having one about feeling hope is different for us.”

The guys have been playing with a backing band for a few years now with both Mick and Phil singing and playing guitar/drums.

The year has been a big one for the brothers, having created some amazing memories.

“It has been incredible for the both of us. We have released four songs now and each one has done so much better than we could have expected.

“We have had plenty coverage in the press, magazines and even radio play this year. I think this was the year that we had to hammer it and it’s worked,” added Mick.

Going into 2020, Mick n Phil have plans to make 2019 look tiny.

“We will have lots of gigs and the new album out. We are even playing a charity gig in the Barrowlands next year which is insane.”

You can find Mick N Phil on Facebook to keep up to date with the new record and further gigs.
