Goodwillie scissor kick cuts visiting Diamonds

Clyde gaffer Danny Lennon hailed two-goal hero David Goodwillie as his injury-hit side dumped Airdrie.
Loan star Alex Petkov opened the scoring for the Bully Wee and Goodwillie doubled their advantage before Airdrie’s Dale Carrick pulled one back.
But Goodwillie sealed the points in injury-time.
Lennon said:“I’ve got to commend every player but David’s first goal was exceptional and his work-rate was incredible. That was Goodwillie at his best.”
The Clyde boss was delighted at the effort from his players and felt they contributed to an entertaining game of football.
He added:“It was a very entertaining game. I’ve got to commend every player in the dressing room - we’re right down to the bare bones but they gave absolutely everything.
“The biggest thing for me was the team performance, the collectiveness and work-rate.
“As a whole, I thought it was a very good game of football, with two teams going at it hammer and tongs.
“Both sets of fans also brought a great atmosphere to the game and I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
Clyde went ahead in seven minutes with Petkov’s header before a beautiful scissors-kick from striker Goodwillie.
Carrick lashed in from a corner but Goodwillie’s late volley sealed the points.
Clyde are back in action this Saturday when they travel to play Peterhead.
