Sick puppy farmer boasts about millions he’s made
A puppy farmer has been caught on camera boasting about the millions of pounds he made from the sick trade.
Robert Brownlie told protestors outside Shawfield greyhound racing track that he made a £20million fortune selling Pomeranian and Cock-a-poo puppies – all without a licence.
He can be heard in the video saying the cash bought him new teeth, four homes abroad and paid for new t*** for his wife.
Brownlie also pulled up his jumper and said he’d paid for a gastric band for himself.
A member of protest group Scotland Against Greyhound Exploitation (SAGE) described the incident in Rutherglen on Saturday.
They said: “Brownlie was walking into the stadium with a group of pals when he spotted us and came over.
“He spelled out his name and then said he’d made millions from puppy farming while us ‘saddos’ were standing out there.
“When I got home, I looked his name up on the internet and was disgusted by what I read.”
In 2016, following a Scottish SPCA investigation, Brownlie, of Newmains, North Lanarkshire, admitted failing to properly care for puppies ,causing them unnecessary suffering, and selling dogs without a license.
He was banned from keeping animals for life, ordered to do 240 hours of unpaid work and fined £2880. The following year, Brownlie, 41, was targeted by the taxman in an operation to crack down on the flow of designer puppies from Ireland to UK ports.
It was revealed Brownlie owed £500,000.
The SAGE member added: “We have cameras on our banners because of the abuse we get.
“Brownlie was boasting and goading us.
“It’s rare that lifelong bans on keeping dogs are handed out but I’m not surprised he got one.”
Brownlie couldn’t be contacted for comment.
