A King’s Park actress is to revisit her most popular role for a new nationwide tour.

For years Jane McCarry played the memorable part of Isa, the always chatty busybody pensioner in Still Game.

And although the smash-hit comedy finally ended last year, Jane is to look back on her career as Isa for a new stage show called “Still Gaun”.

She’ll be alongside her former castmates Paul Riley and Mark Cox, who played Winston and Tam on the programme, and they will look back on their experiences of making the legendary comedy.

Radio DJ Ross Owen will host all 22 dates on the tour, and will take questions from the audience for the talkative trio.

Paul, Jane and Mark put the idea for “Still Gaun” together at the start of the year, in response to demand from passionate Still Game fans.

Jane said: “This show is going to be about our experiences of playing the characters, but it’s so much more than that.

“It’s about the journeys of our lives as friends and the opportunities Still Game has given us.

“Ford (Kiernan) and Greg (Hemphill) have already done events like this with Ross.

“I’m sure they’ll be absolutely 100 per cent in favour of what we’re doing.”

Since the show ended, cast members have found other roles, but qualified drama teacher Jane has something special that she wants to revisit in the future.

She said: “When I was teaching, I worked in behaviour support and complex needs.

“If I won the lottery tomorrow I’d still want to do some of that kind of work. I absolutely will do it again.

“Being an actor is great fun, and I’d love to work in other things, but it’s definitely not the be-all and end-all.

“If you can give something back and help people get on the right path or help someone get on the right path, maybe a kid that’s struggling, I think that’s so important.”

The “Still Gaun” tour starts at the Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock on June 6.
