Drugs arrest

A 43-year-old man has been charged with being in possession of drugs.

At around 2.30pm on Saturday, police officers were in uniformed patrol on Blairbeth Road in Rutherglen.

Officers witnessed a man lean in to a car window, appearing to pass something to the people in the car.

Police stopped the male and detained him for a search. He was found to be in possession of a large number of tablets, believed to be Valium, and an amount of brown powder.

He was charged and a report submitted to the procurator fiscal.
