We enjoyed Haven a great time at caravan

-

My family and I went back to the future this summer with a break at Port Seton on the picturesque east coast of Scotland.

While staying at the Haven Seton Sands Caravan Park, my Auntie Mag revealed that the family of my Great Granda Harry McGoldrick had a holiday hut situated by Port Seton beach in the 1950s.

Mag went to visit when she was young, so it was nice for us to gather there again as a family in 2020!

I had never been to this park before and I was so excited as I love caravan holidays.

My mum, gran, Auntie Mag, Auntie JoJo, Auntie Lorraine and my big cousin Alanna all came along.

My gran always packs lots of homemade food, and I especially love her potato scones – yum, yum.

We were staying in a prestige caravan with decking in a lovely area of the park, and the weather was great throughout our break.

Due to the COVID situation, Haven Holidays are a little different in 2020 and they have made some changes to their usual Haven Experience to comply with restrictions.

Now called Haven Hideaway, there were limited facilities open, but I didn’t really mind as there was still lots to do outdoors and in the local area.

My mum always brings lots of board games to play at night and our pop-up badminton game, so there was always something to do and I was never bored at all. Alanna and I took part in the park’s socially distanced activities together.

The first activity we tried was archery, which was a lot of fun.

We then had a go on the segways, which was a little tricky to start off with, but then we both got the hang of it and were whizzing around and even going backwards!

We also had a go on the go karts which you were able to use all over the park to get around on and we really loved doing this as it was a lot of fun.

We also visited the beach just beside the park which was nice and quite quiet.

We all travelled to a few different places during our stay, and I especially loved our trip to Portobello which is a lovely seaside town with lots of nice shops for the ladies (I hate shopping grrrrr).

B ut there was an amazing beach there which was beside all the shops and we spent a few hours playing on the sand and in the sea which was very cold.

I think that this is the nicest beach I have ever been to!

I can’t wait to go back to this park as I had a brilliant time and would so recommend families to book here.

Even with limited facilities that are available at the moment, it is still a great holiday!
