Thug broke man’s nose in jacket row

-

A Cambuslang thug broke a man’s nose in a row over a jacket.

Thomas Hansen, 29, turned on his victim outside a snooker hall in Glasgow city centre in January.

Hansen headbutted the man amid claims he was stealing from a work colleague’s coat.

Hansen pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the assault to the man’s severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

The court heard the pair were on separate nights out at Reardon’s snooker hall.

Prosecutor Hannah Terrance said:“The accused approached him and said‘wit you saying’before he thrust his head towards his face, making contact with his nose.”

Blood poured from the man’s nose as Hansen fled the scene.

His victim was discovered to have sustained a broken nose in hospital.

Miss Terrance said:“The nose was realigned under general anaesthetic but he has been left with a curve as a result of

the incident.”

Hansen was subsequently traced and arrested.

Lawyer Mark Chambers, defending, told the court Hansen’s work colleague had been kicked out for being too drunk.

He stated Hansen went to get his colleague’s jacket before coming across the man outside.

Mr Chambers added:“[The victim] made reference to [Hansen’s friend] stealing from the jacket and he took offence.”

Sentence was deferred until next month for background reports by Sheriff Sean Murphy QC who bailed the dad-of-one in the meantime.
