Rutherglen’s shoppers and constituents queued up on the Main Street to give us their views and opinions on under-fire MP Margaret Ferrier.

Unanimously, they called her behaviour ‘disgraceful’ and branded her attempts to cling on as ‘selfish’.

“The whole situation is a shambles. She should be resigning.

“Everyone else sticks to the rules and she’s sitting on a train fully aware she has Covid.

“She’s staying in the job for the money, the job we put her in. The job she has let us all down in, all the while there’s people in her constituency in poverty and suffering from Covid.”

“When the First Minister asks you to resign, you must have the sense to stand down.

“What she’s done is inexcusable. People will never forget the risk she took and the dangers she put others in. She has taken far too many risks.”
