Rutherglen Reformer

Voice of the people

-

Rutherglen’s shoppers and constituents queued up on the Main Street to give us their views and opinions on under-fire MP Margaret Ferrier.

Unanimously, they called her behaviour ‘disgraceful’ and branded her attempts to cling on as ‘selfish’.

“The whole situation is a shambles. She should be resigning.

“Everyone else sticks to the rules and she’s sitting on a train fully aware she has Covid.

“She’s staying in the job for the money, the job we put her in. The job she has let us all down in, all the while there’s people in her constituency in poverty and suffering from Covid.”

Deborah Graham

“When the First Minister asks you to resign, you must have the sense to stand down.

“What she’s done is inexcusable. People will never forget the risk she took and the dangers she put others in. She has taken far too many risks.”

Dennis Smalley

“Just like many other politicians, Margaret is hoping this will be swept under the carpet whilst she makes a healthy salary.

“She has betrayed her constituency and let us all down. She must resign.

“Her article in The Sun is an embarrassment. She is losing all respect. She must go immediately.”

Liam Neil

“In any other job where you mess up, you either resign or get fired.

“There is a flaw in the system if the people of Rutherglen or the First Minister can’t force her out.

“What she has done is a complete disgrace. She should be ashamed. She has let everyone down. It’s time to go.” Rebecca King
