Brothers delighted to release Braw album
Songwriting siblings from Burnside and Kings Park are aiming to go the distance in their musical career with the release of their debut album.
Performing as Braw, folk-pop duo Iain and Andrew Mundy have recorded A Few Miles More, which will be released across all streaming platforms, for download, and in CD form next Friday, March 19. It is available to order now. Iain, of Burnside, explained: “A Few Miles More is an album about life in your early 20s, as you try to get a grip of where and how you should spend it.
“It reflects on the people you’ve lost and life’s long journey to achieving your dreams.
“We hope this is just the start of Braw’s journey, as we love writing and performing together. We’ve put a lot of hours into this and are very excited to finally get it out there.”
Braw, who specialise in close harmony vocals and draw inspiration from acts such as Simon and Garfunkel and Biffy Clyro, have released four songs from the album as singles: Swing Door, Piece By Piece, Home From Home and Whisky in Hand.
Although they haven’t been able to play live since lockdown, the Mundy brothers have gained a loyal online following, succeeding in getting Whisky In Hand into the official Scottish single charts, where it reached number 65, and the main iTunes singles chart, where the track peaked at number 50.
The song also received substantial radio airplay including on BBC Radio Scotland’s The Afternoon Show, Celtic Music Radio, Camglen FM, and singleof-the-week features on The Max and Chief Radio Scotland.
Formed in 2019, Iain and Andrew have been performing as Braw across the Glasgow music scene.
Their unique vocal blend allows them to create innovative and original blood harmonies, while offering fresh takes on classic songs.
