Glens man Peter is on new WoSFL board

-

Rutherglen Glencairn committee member Peter Ferguson has been appointed to the West of Scotland League’s inaugural board, following an election last week.

Ferguson, who was on the Interim Management Group, is one of five divisional club representatives, which also includes Kevin Robertson (Neilston), Bobby McNamara (Ardrossan), Martin McKenna (St Anthony’s) and Ian Young (Glenafton).

Neiliston’s Kevin Robertson is delegate to the Scottish FA Non Professional Game Board and the Scottish FA Congress.

Clydebank’s Matt Bamford comes in as chairman, with Colin Boyd of Kilwinning Rangers as vice-chair.

Dave McKenna has stepped down as WoSFL chairman and returns to his position on the Lowland League board

Whitletts Victoria’s John Dalton is general secretary, while Kennie Young (neutral) is fixtures secretary.

Jeff Hunt of Pollok comes in as discipline secretary and Chris McKillop from Port Glasgow is treasurer.

The new board was elected during a Special General Meeting, replacing the Interim Management Group, who had administered the league since its inception, under the invitation of the Lowland League.

This means the West of Scotland League is now fully under the administration of the member clubs.

Chairman Dave McKenna has stepped down, alongside treasurer Dr Andrew Waddell. Both will return to their original roles in the Lowland League board.

The WoSFL remains suspended due to Covid and this season remains uncertain, as clubs await news from the SFA..
