Talented teens rock music world with debut single

- EMYLIE HOWIE

A duo have teamed up to create a teenage rock band and release their first single.

Former Burnbank pupil Eilidh Norris has joined forces with multiinstrumentalist and Rutherglen producer, Brandyn Kilpatrick, to form ANAVRI?.

And the talented pair have released their debut single, Dallas.

ANAVRI? was the brainchild of the talented Brandyn who, armed with a pile of songs, set out to form a partnership with a singer who shared his love of alternative music.

Enter, Iona Sky – Eilidh’s performing name.

Having performed in another couple of bands and fresh from support slots at sold out gigs with Eddi Reader, The Ronains and Tide Lines , the 15-year-old “fancied a new challenge”.

And having staved off the boredom of lockdown in Kintyre, having moved from Hamilton, Eilidh suddenly found herself armed with a pile of lyrics

The “Accies daft” teenager attended St Cuthbert’s before moving to Kintyre with her family a few years ago, but remains a regular at New Douglas Park.

Eilidh and Brandyn instantly hit it off and spent the second lockdown throwing ideas back and forth before finally getting into the studio in April 2021.

ANAVRI? have released their debut single and are looking forward to going on tour

hundreds of views on YouTube and Dallas was released last month on Spotify.

It features big guitars with carefully understated vocals.

The band have added Guthrie Scott on drums and Andrew Bendoris on bass and things just got a whole lot

louder. All tracks are written, recorded and produced by the band themselves, so it is independent music from fiercely independent minds.

The band are in the studio writing and recording tracks and will release more music and tour later in 2021 and make

their live debut opening for Peat and Diesel at the Iconic Tarbert Music Festival next month.
