The council are delighted to launch their Community Activity Grant 2021 inviting applications from individuals, local groups, and organisations in Cambuslang West, who would benefit from small grants of up to £500, to pursue their activities.

The community council were awarded £5000 from the Renewable Energy Fund Micro Grant Scheme which is managed by South Lanarkshire Council.

The aim of the scheme is to support a range of activities in the community.

Clare Williamson of CCC told the Reformer: “We are calling on local groups to help make positive changes to Cambuslang as we come out of the pandemic.

“This is the third year we have had the pleasure of administering these grants which have benefited many local groups, helping them to carry out a wide range of activities within the community.

“We recognise this year, more than ever, many groups will need a bit of extra support and even a small grant can make a huge difference, so we are encouraging local groups in Cambuslang West to apply.

“Individuals, groups, and organisations within the Cambuslang West districts of Central Cambuslang, Circuit, Eastfield, Greenlees, Silverbank, and Whitlawburn can apply.

“The purpose of the grants is to enable individuals and groups to have access to funds which will enhance the quality of life for residents in Cambuslang West, contribute to a vibrant, healthy and successful community, and to promote community spirit and activity.”

This is the third year the community council have administered the grants which have seen a number of local groups benefit including the Upstairs Kids Klub in Cambuslang who put the cash towards improving their outside space, Cambuslang Football Academy 2008s, and Project 31 who organised a Christmas Treasure Hunt.
