Nisbet’s relief at hitting the net
Kevin Nisbet says it was a relief to get back to scoring ways for Hibs against St JohnstoneonSaturday.
The Scotland striker from Cambuslang had netted oncein eight Premiershipmatches before findinga goal inHibs’2-1 victory over St Johnstone.
Nisbet’s form has come under scrutiny amid Hibs’run offive straight leaguedefeats prior to beating Saintswho had CraigBryson sentoff - on Saturday.
But now he has found a way back to the goal scoring trail, the 24-year-old is keenfor this to be the start of a good run ofform. However,Hibs’teamform is the most important thing to him.
Nisbet told Hibs’club media:“The goal meant a lot.Being back on the scoresheet and celebrating felt good.
“The last few games I’ve felt a lot sharper, back to like I was last season, and I knewifI kept getting myself in the right positions, kept working hard, then I’d score.Iproved that tonight.
“I had a similar period at Dunfermline where I didn’t score fora few games, thenI scored oneand I just kept scoring after that.Hopefully it’s the same thing!Whenyou’ve had a run like we’ve had, and then to goa goal down like that, a lot of teamswould fold, butwe’ve gota great group in there, we’re all together, and we all trust each other.
“We kept going until the final whistle andwe got the result we full deserved. Even when there were 11 peopleon the pitch each, we controlled the game.
“We conceded a sloppy goal, which we will go back and look at, but I think the character of the lads – losing fiveon the bounceandcoming back – was great. The result was fully deserved.”
