Applications are open for Lanarkshire’s Employer of the Year and are open to all county businesses.

Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards aims to celebrate the achievements of businesses across the area.

The employer of the year award is open to all businesses including social enterprises in all sectors.

Candidates must be able to show commitment to continuous staff learning and development, flexible working arrangements, paying or actively working towards paying the Real Living Wage in the next 12 months and how employers engage with long term unemployment.

Other employer qualities include employee health and wellbeing policies, taking active action to reduce the pay gap as well as improving gender equality and engagement with local authority employability programmes and national engagement.

The awards are hosted by both South and North Lanarkshire Councils. This year’s ceremony will be the first since the pandemic and held on September 2 at Motherwell Concert Hall.

Awards are free to enter and each business can apply for up to two categories.

There will be an online information workshop run by Business Gateway on April 21 which will cover advice on completing the application form, this is available to book here.

The closing date to apply is April 29 at 5pm.
