Earls Court, 1958.
In 1958 Douglas Motorcycles of Bristol launched the Vespa Clubman 150 which was described by The Motor Cycle that year as “halfway between the Standard and the Gran Sport machine”. Sitting on 8in Michelin tyres The Motor Cycle published a top speed recorded as 49mph. Douglas displayed the Vespa Clubman at the Earls Court Motorcycle Show in London later that year with optional fork link cover, mudguard bumper and front luggage rack to show the options to potential customers.
