Scootering

OWNERS DETAILS

-

Name: Isabella Antonioli Scooter club: SIR (Italy).

First interest in scooters: Mid 90s, after meeting some of the local Rimini Mods and scooterists.

First scooter: Lambretta GP125 with a TS1225 engine.

First rally: IOW in ’96. I was in the UK at the time and we were delivering a van load of scooters to a customer. There was a nice TV175 Series 2 in among the bikes so we sorted it out with the customer so we could hang onto it for a few extra days, to have a scooter to ride around the island on. Compared to the thousands that attend the IOW nowadays it was empty, but it was still a fantastic experience.

How could the scooter scene get better: More girls riding their own scooters instead of riding pillion.

Farthest ever ridden: To Ireland for the Eurolambretta Jamboree in the late 90s.

What do you like about rallies/events today: I used to love the ride outs but these have all but disappeared on the Italian rallies. I still love the allnighters and an all-day bar!

Who first inspired you in the scooter scene: The Rimini Mods in the 90s and boys I now work with at RLC!

Recommend one scooter part: A phone charger in the toolbox and a sat-nav to know where I’m going! Even with that I still get lost, as the editor can vouch for…
