Steve Foster article
Hello Dan. Following up on the article on Steve Foster, Scootering Feb 2018, he is one of the good guys, and the scooter scene owes him many debts. My wife and I got married at the Isle Of Wight Rally in August 2001, I didn’t know Steve at all then, only by reputation. I phoned him a few months before, to let him know my plans, and to see how I could fit in my personal celebrations with the organisers of the biggest and most spectacular scooter rally in the world. He immediately jumped in with offers of help, and arranged for us to have our Saturday afternoon reception upstairs at the Ice Rink, with all the facilities and at very discounted prices. It went very well, the organisers laid on a few treats, and we got a name check and congratulations from Edwin Starr later. Steve, or a colleague, must have instigated this. Steve has probably long forgotten this, and me no doubt, but it was a big deal to my wife and I, and to our friends and family. We’re still happily married and still grateful to Steve. Best regards, Terry Wilson Southampton SCSC BMSC
Hi Terry, Thanks for the letter, and yes, Steve is one of the good guys, well... at least that’s what he told me to print in the article when he first introduced himself and shook me firmly by the throat (joke). In all seriousness though, it’s great that Steve managed to make the evening of your wedding so memorable, and for all the right reasons too. Dan
