‘VSRC’ VESPA

Name of scooter & reason: ‘VSRC’, because it’s my club. Scooter model: Vespa PX200 Inspiration for project: As I am the manufacturer and co-developer of all the special parts from Scooter & Service from Hamburg. I decided that it was time to have a Vespa which included all the parts I assembled and built. The wife’s scooter needed a repaint. So Jessica (my wife) chose the colour and she also wanted an 80s look with modern technology where you would see the engineering on the second look. Time to build & by who: Three months, all by me except paint. Any specialised parts or frame mods: Radial disc-brake with LML-drum, shortened forks for PK-shock, one-off exhaust from Scooter & Service, Hamburg, widened side panels, original 80s accessories seat, spare wheel cover and indicator/rear light lenses. 130/70 rear tyre with 4in rim, full electric start and USB ports for sat-nav and a mobile phone. Engine spec: Kit: 210 Malossi Sport Crank: 60mil Pinasco Rotary Inlet, Carb: 30 Dellorto, Exhaust: Scooter & Service Newline S Plus stainless steel polished. Clutch: Scooter & Service Evo Clutch Gearbox: PX200 with short fourth and long first gears. Porting work by: Myself. Dyno done by: Myself – 23.8hp and 26Nm torque. Describe engine performance, power delivery and scooter handling: Great tourer, with a lot of torque. Are there any other unique details we have missed: Electric start with lightened and balanced flywheel. Top speed & cruising speed: 130km/h. Is the scooter reliable: Uber. Paintwork & murals done by: Vorwerk Paintings. Is there any powder coating: The forks. Is there any chrome: Böge HH. Overall cost: €4000. What was the hardest part of the project: Not scratching it when assembling it. Is there anything still to add to the scoot: Speedblocks, starter numbers, chromed forks and a Lambretta sprint rack.
