Name: Paul Schram Job: Motor parts van driver. Scooter club & town: The Ant and Aardvark Scooter Club, Beccles, Suffolk. First interest in scooters: Early 80s while at school. Your first scooter: Vespa PX125. Favourite scooter model: Lambretta LD150. Favourite style of custom scooter: Anything that you can see people have put thought into and of course ridden. First rally or event: Great Yarmouth in about ’85. How did you get there: Went by train, I’d been grounded and had to sneak out of the window. Favourite and worst rally/event: Love Mersea and Cleethorpes but we have a laugh wherever we go; it’s what you make it! Funniest experience with a scooter: Following a mate, Godfrey on a tour of the Isle of Wight last year to some view point (which we never made). He said he knew the way but we ended up passing the airport five times in different directions and kept passing the same farmer who must have thought we were mad! What’s the furthest you’ve ever ridden on a scooter: Probably the Isle of Wight (about 250 miles each way). What do you like about rallies/events: Catching up with people and having a laugh with the rest of the club. What do you dislike about rallies/events: The growing number of clothes stalls! Favourite Scootering Magazine feature: Features on peoples’ scooters and tuning tech. Favourite custom/featured scooter of all time: I have two: Firstly ‘Midnight Oil’ – fantastic artwork and ‘300’ – lovely artwork again and great attention to detail. If you had to recommend one scooter part or item of riding kit what would it be: I love my gadgets so it has to be my temperature gauges. What’s the most useless part you’ve ever bought for one of your scooters: 120mph speedo, which didn’t start working until you got to 50mph and then just shook between 50 and 120 so you never could see what speed you were doing!
