Scootering

SCOOTER DETAILS

-

Name of scooter & reason: Autobiography. It derived from so many things and it’s basically saying that I change my mind like the wind. There are so many different things on the scooter which show everything that would tell a story of somebody’s life. Scooter model: Italian 1963 LI 150 Series 2. Date purchased & cost: 2015 for £1800. Inspiration for project: I had a few Lambrettas over the years and they have never really been what I wanted, so I set out on a journey to build this one. I wanted a nice scooter that was not too much in your face, nice to ride and it stood out a bit. Time to build & by who: From start to finish a about 14 months, most of it built by my good f friend Denno (Neil Denton, owner of Spirit of ’73). I live over 75 miles away from Denno aand although we were supposed to build it ttogether he just did it behind my back anyway! He only ever asked me regarding the design aand major decisions (monies) and told me to sstay away ha ha. Any A specialised stuff: Barrel B and piston: Rapido 250 with AAF Mammoth Head 250 cc (72mm ) with large Avanti Head Cowl. Case: C Powder-coated GP200 casing. Crankshaft: C RB25 60mm race crank. Exhaust: E Gori GP 50 sports pipe. Clutch: C AF six-plate road clutch. Carb: C Flatslide 30mm Delorto. Describe D engine performance, power delivery and scooter s handling: I’m still running it in but it’s starting to want to go a bit. Another 100 miles or so and she will be off. The Casa front anti-dive disc is amazing. Are there any other unique details we have missed: Casa front disc, Oiltek rear disc and long range tank. SIP digital speedo, BGM front and rear adjustable shocks, Gori sports exhaust. Paintwork & murals done by: Dave Dickenson. Overall cost: £17.50… honest luv! What was the hardest part of the project: Deciding the final design, which changed daily/weekly and hourly! Is there anything still to add to the scoot: I can’t decide, ha ha. Is there anyone you wish to thank: Denno and Steph for everything, I couldn’t have done it without them (he’s a top bloke and friend). Micky and Dave for sticking their noses in on days we needed to get things done, putting us behind and adding nothing of great value. Dave Dicko and Claire for been so patient and engaging and never telling me to f@@ off and for an outstanding design and paint job. The guys at Oiltek who can never do enough, Rayspeed for the engine build. And finally my family, and long suffering wife Shelagh who I bored senseless with ideas and options and allowing me to spend all of £17.50.
